"Οι ειδικοί ξέρουν ότι για το θέμα αυτής της Διατριβής δεν υπάρχουν προηγούμενες μελέτες έστω και με την πιο μικρή χρησιμότητα. Μέχρι σήμερα, συνεχίζονται οι φλυαρίες του Κικέρωνα και του Πλούταρχου. Ο Gassendi, που απελευθέρωσε τον Επίκουρο από το ανάθεμα στο οποίο τον είχαν καταδικάσει οι πατέρες της εκκλησίας και ολόκληρος ο Μεσαίωνας –η εποχή του πραγματοποιημένου παράλογου– παρουσιάζει στις απόψεις του ένα και μόνο ενδιαφέρον στοιχείο. Προσπαθεί να συμβιβάσει την καθολική του συνείδηση με την ειδωλολατρική του γνώση, και τον Επίκουρο με την εκκλησία, πράγμα βέβαια που ήταν χαμένος κόπος. Είναι σαν να ήθελε κανείς να τυλίξει με το χριστιανικό ράσο μιας καλόγριας το τρυφερό και χυμώδες κορμί της ελληνίδας Λαΐδα. Ο Gassendi μάλλον διδάσκεται φιλοσοφία από τον Επίκουρο παρά μπορεί να μας διδάξει για τη φιλοσοφία του Επίκουρου."

Επικούρειες επιδράσεις στον διαφωτισμό
Είναι η ώρα ενός νέου διαφωτισμού που θα βοηθήσει την Ευρώπη και όλο τον Δυτικό πολιτισμό, να βρει και πάλι το σημείο αναφοράς του για να μπορέσει να επιβιώσει. Είναι και πάλι η στιγμή να ξαναανακαλύψουμε την Φιλοσοφία του Επίκουρου.

Οι φίλοι μας, Δημήτρης Λιαρμακόπουλος και Αντώνης Μπιλίσης, εκπροσώπησαν άξια τον "Κήπο Θεσσαλονίκης" στη δημοσιογραφική εκπομπή Zona Rosa (στις 24/12/2014), της δοκιμαζόμενης και αντιστεκόμενης ΕΤ3.
