Ο Επίκουρος επηρέασε τη ζωή και τη σκέψη όχι μόνον των Ελλήνων και Ρωμαίων, παρά κάθε λαού που ήρθε σε επαφή με τον πολιτισμό τους ή έπεσε υπό την κυριαρχία τους. Το κίνημα που διαμόρφωσε ο Επίκουρος διατηρήθηκε οργανωμένο, για επτακόσια χρόνια: χοντρικά από το 300π.χ. ώς το 400μ.χ. Ο καθηγητής Φάρινγκτον τοποθετεί τον αγώνα του Επίκουρου για την ευτυχία του ανθρώπου στα ιστορικά πλαίσια και θεωρεί την πνευματική του προσπάθεια ως νέο στάδιο της ελληνικής επιστημονικής σκέψης, ιδιαίτερα του ατομισμού του Δημόκριτου και της βιολογίας του Αριστοτέλη σε διασταύρωση με την ηθική φιλοσοφία του Σωκράτη.

Επικούρειες επιδράσεις στον διαφωτισμό
Είναι η ώρα ενός νέου διαφωτισμού που θα βοηθήσει την Ευρώπη και όλο τον Δυτικό πολιτισμό, να βρει και πάλι το σημείο αναφοράς του για να μπορέσει να επιβιώσει. Είναι και πάλι η στιγμή να ξαναανακαλύψουμε την Φιλοσοφία του Επίκουρου.

Οι φίλοι μας, Δημήτρης Λιαρμακόπουλος και Αντώνης Μπιλίσης, εκπροσώπησαν άξια τον "Κήπο Θεσσαλονίκης" στη δημοσιογραφική εκπομπή Zona Rosa (στις 24/12/2014), της δοκιμαζόμενης και αντιστεκόμενης ΕΤ3.
